At last, he found a white cable, yanked it out, and rushed back, plugging it into the cube's port. Seconds of silence. Then, a soft "beep" sounded, and the "eye"—the dot I'd mistaken for a camera lens—lit up! It glowed with a soft, shifting halo of rainbow light. Not a camera at all—just an indicator light!


The Projection Revealed
Liz ran her fingers over the cube's smooth surface, stopping at a hidden depression. With a firm press, a faint hum came from inside, and the colored ring steadied. Suddenly, a bright beam shot from the front, hitting the white ceiling and projecting a crisp image—David and me embracing in the snow last Christmas! We were grinning like fools, snowflakes dusting our hair!
